Coconut oil (Heat pressed)
Cocos nucifera
Economical & Stable for Multi-Purpose Use
Produced by mechanically pressing dried coconut copra (kernel) with heat, this refined oil undergoes filtration and sometimes chemical processing to neutralize impurities. While less nutrient-dense than cold-pressed coconut oil, it retains a high lauric acid content, offering antimicrobial benefits and heat stability. Its neutral aroma, lighter texture, and higher smoke point make it ideal for cooking, frying, or soap-making. In skincare, it provides affordable moisture for dry skin or hair treatments but lacks the antioxidants and vitamins of unrefined versions. Solid at cooler temps, liquid when warm—budget-friendly for large-scale formulations. Shelf-stable for 2+ years; store in a cool, dark place.
Lyddies Botanics’ Note: We prioritize cold-pressed coconut oil for its purity, but our hot-pressed option is sustainably sourced, RSPO-certified (where applicable), and free from additives. Ideal for non-sensitive applications where cost-efficiency matters. 🥥
Tip: Avoid for facial use if acne-prone (comedogenic rating 4/5). Choose cold-pressed for raw, nutrient-rich skincare.
